Abstract
Typhoid fever is a disease caused by Salmonella typhi bacteria. Typhoid fever is an endemic disease of Indonesia. The therapy attempt of typhoid fever is by using antibiotics and the accomplishment of this therapy depend on the accuracy of antibiotics usage. The aim of this research is to find the accurate usage of antibiotics among typhoid fever patients of inpatient installation of RSUD Jombang (Jombang Regency’s Public Hospital) during the year of 2015. This is a qualitative research employing observations method (nonexperimental) with retrospective character. The population used in this research is the patients of typhoid fever who are using the antibiotic during their time at RSUD Jombang. Sampling method done with purposeful sampling. The criteria of samples are typhoid fiver patient without additional disease and complication. The result of the research shows that 54 cases are part of the inclusion criteria. This result further analyzed using descriptive analysis method by comparing it with The 2014 Clinical Practice Standard Guide from Health Ministry. The most used antibiotic among typhoid fever patients at the inpatient installation of RSUD Jombang are kloramfenikol (24.074%) and seftriakson (24.074%). The accuracy evaluation of antibiotic usage including: indication accuracy of 54 patients (100%), patient accuracy of 53 patients (98.15%), medicine accuracy of 39 patients (72,2%), and dosage accuracy of 11 patients (20.37%). Appropriateness of antibiotic usage according to RSUD Jombang’s FRS is 88,9% while according The 2014 Clinical Practice Standard Guide from Health Ministry is 72,2%.
