Abstract
Diarrhea is a disease with frequency of defecation more than 3 times a day with stool consistency is more dilute than usual. Diarrhea drugs can have side effects, so needs for rational use of drugs. The purpose of this study was to determine the accuracy of the antidiarrheal drugs usage in acute diarrhea children based on standarts of WGO (World Gastroenterology Organization) and Dipiro. The method used in this study was non-experimental descriptive, with retrospective data collection from medical records of acute diarrhea of children. The data used were age, sex, drug use, number of doses, and length of treatment. Data collected were 71 patients then grouped based on indicators of indication accuracy, drug accuracy, patient accuracy, precision dose, analyzed compared with guidelines of WGO and Dipiro. The results showed the most widely drugs used on acute diare of children of Dr. Moewardi Hospital in 2015 was antibiotics such as class of penicillin (41,18%), cephalosporin (29,41%), aminoglycoside (7,35%), and antibiotics metronidazole (7,35%), chloramfenicol (5,88%), macrolide (4,41%), cotrimoxazole (4,41%). Percentage suitability of antidiare drug usase on acute diare of children based on WGO and Dipiro standarts showed that right indication was 100%, right drug was 80%, right patient was 100% and right dose was 80%.
