Abstract

Clinical laboratory examination is one of the most important supporting factors in helping diagnose a disease, one of which is blood glucose examination. Blood glucose examination aims to determine the presence or absence of diseases such as diabetes mellitus. Power outages, tools damaged, distances too far and reagents that run out causing the sample delayed examination. This delay can be overcome using a tube containing sodium fluoride (NaF) anticoagulants that can inhibit the occurrence of glycolysis so that glucose levels can be maintained at room temperature. The aim of this study is to compare plasma glucose levels examined directly and delayed for 2 hours in patients with diabetes mellitus with NaF anticoagulants. This research uses GOD-PAP method at laboratory of Karanganyar General Hospital with 30 samples at 10 Mei-22 Mei 2017. The examination result of glucose level was done by normality data test using Shapiro-Wilk and got p value 0,000 < 0,05 so it can be concluded that data is not normally distributed, than the result was tested using Wilcoxon test and get p value = 0,000 <0,05 so that glucose level examined by using fresh NaF plasma and NaF plasma delay for 2 hours in diabetes mellitus patient there was a significant difference.
