Abstract

Urinary tract infection (UTI) itself has a diverse population based on age and gender, in which infections in women are more common because of different body structures with men. The purpose of this study was to examine the accuracy of antibiotic administration in cases of UTI at RSUD dr. H. Jusuf S.K in Tarakan, North Kalimantan in 2020-2021 using the Gyssens method. This study includes descriptive non-experimental data collection retrospectively from medical records of inpatients for the period 2020-2021 at RSUD dr. H. Jusuf S. Data on patient characteristics, drug use and rationality of antibiotics were analyzed using the Gyssens method, shown in tabular form and percentages. The results of the study on patients with urinary tract infections at RSUD dr. H. Jusuf S.K in Tarakan, North Kalimantan, showed that the most widely used type of antibiotic was ceftriaxone (69%). The results of the study of the rationality of the Gyssens method obtained categories III B and II B (59%), categories III B and II A (6%), category II B (6%), categories III B, II A, and II B (6%) , Category III B (5%), category IV A and III B (4%), category IV A, III B and II B (4%), category III A (1%), category IV A and II A (1 %), categories IV A and III A (1%), and categories IV A, III B and II B (1%).
