Abstract
Floating Drug Delivery System (FDDs) is a preparation system which has a lower density than the density of the gastric juices. Verapamil HCl antianginal one that has strong vasodilator effect and has a high solubility in acidic conditions. One of the additional material is a binder. The purpose of this study is to determine the addition of PVP K-30 levels of 7.5%, 10% and 12,5%, which can producetablets floating verapamil HCl with good tablet physical quality and the concentration of PVP K-30 can producetablets floating verapamil HCl physical quality of the best tablet. Research carried out by making 3 formulas tablets floating verapamil HCl with PVP K-30 concentration of 7.5%, 10% and 12,5%. Tablets made by wet granulation. The granules produced by drying shrinkage tested and flow time. Physical quality test tablet include: uniformity of weight, hardness, friability, floating lag time and the total floating time. The resulting data were first compared to the Indonesian Pharmacopoeia and other literature, both were analyzed by ANOVA one way and SNK test at 95% confidence level. Formula tablets floating verapamil HCl with PVP K-30 concentration of 7.5%, 10% and 12,5% can produce tablets with high hardness, low friability and total floating time >24 hours. Formula tablets floating verapamil HCl with PVP K-30 concentration of 7.5% resulted in a floating lag time is faster than the other formula.
