Abstract

Dengue fever is an infectious disease caused by the dengue virus. Dengue fever is a disease transmitted through the bite of the Aedes aegypty and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes that attack children and adults. One of the blood tests for suspected dengue fever patients is the platelet count. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of the platelet count in patients suspected of dengue fever at the Estu Utomo Karanggede Primary Inpatient Clinic. This type of research uses secondary data using a Hematology Analyzer with the impedance method. The research sample was obtained from 30 patients suspected of having dengue fever from January 2022 to February 2022. From the results of the study, 30 patients with suspected dengue fever were 27 people (90%) with low platelet counts, 3 people (10%) with normal platelet counts and 0 people (0%) with high platelet counts.
