Abstract
Platelet aggregation is the ability of platelets to stick together to form a plug. An unhealthy lifestyle such as smoking can affect platelet aggregation such as hypoaggregation. Toxins in cigarettes such as nicotine can interfere with the process of platelet aggregation in the blood. This study aims to determine the description of platelet aggregation in men who smoke conventionally. The writing of this scientific paper is based on examination data conducted at the Hematology Laboratory of Setia Budi University, using venous blood samples of smokers aged 20 to 45 years, by making 3.2% Na Citrate blood and with the addition of an adrenal inductor, peripheral blood smears and seen under a microscope. Based on the results of laboratory examinations of 30 venous blood samples of smokers aged 20 to 45 years, it was found that 100% of platelet aggregation levels were less than normal (hypoaggregation). This indicates a decrease in platelet aggregation levels in smokers aged 20 to 45 years.
