Abstract
Typhoid fever or abdominal thypus is a systemic infectious disease caused by Salmonella thypi bacteria belonging to the Enterobacteriaciae family. These bacteria attack the gastrointestinal tract characterized by fever over 7 days, gastrointestinal disturbances and impaired consciousness, people familiar with this disease with the name Tipes or thypus. Transmission of the disease is usually through contaminated food and drink. The purpose of this study is to determine the use of antibiotic drugs typhoid fever in pediatric patients and conformity with Formulary at Inpatient Installation Surakarta Regional General Hospital. The method of collecting data is non experimental descriptive method. Retrospectively that is by way of observation on data that already exist before. Sampling technique used are purposive sampling and medical record data of patients who meet the criteria. The results showed that of the total of 134 patients, the highest percentage of patients with pediatric tifoid fever based on the use of antibiotic drugs, the single most drug therapy was ceftriaxon (54.11%), Chloramphenicol (27,06), Ampicillin (12,95%), Cefotaxim (5,88%) while the most combination therapy was ceftriaxone with cefixim (55.10%), Chloramphenicol injection with Chloramphenicol syrup (26,54%), Chloramphenicol with cefixim (6,12%), Cefotaxim with Cefixim (4,08%), Chloramphenicol with Ampicillin (4,08%), Ceftriaxon with Ciprofloxacin (2,04%), Ceftriaxon with Levofloxacin (2,04%), and the appropriateness of drug use to hospital formulary is 100%.
