Abstract
Robusta coffee bean extract (Coffea canephora P). Contains flavonoids, tannins, saponins, alkaloids, and steroids indicating that these compounds have antioxidant activity. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in the emulsifier span 80 and tween 80 on the physical quality test, to determine the antioxidant activity contained in the Robusta coffee bean extract lotion, to determine the IC50 value in the Robusta coffee bean extract lotion. Ethanol extract of robusta coffee bean extract (Coffea canephora P.) was obtained by maceration method using 96% ethanol. Lotion of coffee bean ethanol extract with each containing variations in the concentration of Span 80 dan tween 80 F1 2,2;11,8%, F2 1,6%;8,4%, F3 1,9%;10,1%, F4 2,2%;11,8%, F5 1,6%;8,4%, F6 1,9%;10,1%, F7 2,2%;11,8%. Determination of antioxidant activity was carried out by the DPPH free radical reduction method by calculating the IC50 value. The lotion preparations were also tested for physical quality including organoleptic tests, lotion type, homogeneity, pH, dispersion, adhesion, viscosity, cyciling test. The results of the research on robusta coffee bean extract lotion with variations of tween 80 and span 80 have an effect on the physical quality of the lotion. The antioxidant test results showed that formula 5 was the formula with the best antioxidant value, namely 105.983 ppm, which was classified as moderate antioxidant.
