Abstract

The chayote plant is believed to be efficacious in overcoming hypertension. Network pharmacology is an application of analysis to determine target proteins that are predicted to have an effect on the cure of a disease, and to identify what molecules or compounds can target these proteins. The purpose of this study was to determine the molecular protein that is predicted to be the work target of chayote compounds as antihypertensives and to determine the pharmacology profile of chayote compounds on hypertension target proteins. The study used a web server and IJAH Analytics and KNApSAcK software to collect data on the content of chemical compounds, Pubchem to determine the activity of compounds. DrugCentral and KEGG Pathway to identify target proteins. Validating the protein obtained using Uniport. String to see how the interactions between proteins. Download the compounds obtained in the form of TSV and CSV then tabulate them in excel form. Swiss Target Prediction and SEA were used to predict protein and to visualize interactions between nodes with the hypertension pathway using Cytoscape. The results of pharmacology network profile visualization showed that the target proteins involved in the hypertension pathway were ACE2, MME, PRCP, CTSG, LNPEP, EDN1, and EDNRA. The compounds apigenin, quercetin, caffeic acid, cinnamic acid, gallic acid, hesperetin, and chayote luteolin are able to form a network pharmacology profile and interact with target proteins according to the KEGG pathway in hypertension.
