Abstract
Butterfly pea flower (Clitoria ternatea L.) has an antioxidant pharmacological effect. The antioxidant activity of butterfly pea flowers contains compounds such as phenols, anthocyanins, flavonol glycosides, kenferol glycosides, terpenoids, steroids, flavonoids, and tannins. This study aims to determine whether the ethanol extract of the butterfly pea flower has antioxidant activity, whether the ethanol extract ointment from the butterfly pea flower can heal cuts in rabbits and to determine the effective concentration of the ethanol extract ointment on the butterfly pea flower for wound healing in rabbits. This study used butterfly pea extract macerated with 70% ethanol. Extract concentrations were made as many as 3, namely 0.1%, 0.2%, 0.4%. The extract was tested for antioxidant activity using the DPPH method. The tested extract was applied to the rabbit's back, and the wound healing was observed. The results showed that telang flower ethanol extract has an antioxidant activity value IC50 value in 0.1% extract obtained a value of 21.21 ppm, 0.2% extract obtained a value of 13.46 ppm and 0.4% extract obtained a value of 26.57 ppm, where the value of antioxidant activity is included in the category very strong, telang flower ethanol extract ointment can heal cuts on the back of New Zealand white rabbits with different times and variations in the concentration of telang flower ethanol extract ointment with 0.2% concentration is very effective in healing New Zealand white rabbit cuts.
