Abstract
Burns are a tissue damage caused by direct contact with sources such as fire, hot water, chemicals, electricity, radiation. Kecombrang flowers have activity in healing burns with the content of flavonoids, saponins, tannins, triterpenoids and steroids. This study aims to find out that kecombrang flower extract can be formulated into a cream with good physical quality and stability, to know the effect of variations in the concentration of kecombrang flower extract cream base which provides healing for burns and to find out the fastest effective formula for healing burns. Kecombrang flower extract was prepared by maceration method with 96% ethanol solvent. Kecombrang flower extract cream was prepared in 3 base concentration formulas with stearic acid and triethanolamine formula I (10% and 0,5%), formula II (12,5% and 1%), formula III (15% and 1,5%) . Kecombrang flower extract cream was tested for physical quality and stability including organoleptic, viscosity, pH, homogeneity, spreadability and adhesion. The burn healing activity test was carried out on the backs of New Zealand rabbits. The data obtained were analyzed using Kolmogorov Sminorv and Two Way ANOVA. The results showed that kecombrang flower extract could be formulated into a cream with good physical quality. Each variation of base concentration has activity as an anti-burn and in formula II it has the fastest burn healing activity. Keywords : burn, kecombrang flower, stearid acid, triethanolamine, cream, rabbit.
