Abstract
Kepel leaf (Stelechocarpus burahol HOOK) contains flavonoids and polyphenols are efficacious as a lowering of uric acid levels in the blood. This study aims to determine the leaves of the boiler can be made tablets lowering uric acid levels that meet the requirements of physical quality test tablets. Kepel leaf dry extract was obtained by maseration of pineapple leaves with ethanol 70%, then dried by using aerosil. The Tablet made by using wet granulation method in three Formulas: Ist formulas using manihot starch for binder, II nd formulas using oryza starch for binder, and F III rd formulas using maydis starch for binder. The granules obtained were tested for physical properties including flow time, steady angle, and drying shrinkage. The finished tablets are tested for physical quality which includes weight uniformity test, frayness test, hardness test and crushed tablet test time. The results of data obtained in if with statistical processing using oneway ANOVA with 95% confidence level. The results showed that the tablet of Kepel leaf extract using by maydis binder starch, oryza starch, and amylum starch showed all the formula able to produce tablet that fulfill the requirement of granule characteristic test and physical characteristic test of tablet. Combination of binder from maydis, oryza, amylum starch can influence to physical properties from the tablet. The Ist formulas with the manihot starch for binder is the best formulas to be seen from crushing time and their fragility compaired to the II nd and III rd formulas.
