Abstract

The prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia in 2018 was 34.1%. Ethnopharmacy studies are an approach that can be used to explore local knowledge of the Samin community regarding the use of plants as antihypertensives. This study aims to find out which plants are used as antihypertensives, how to mix them and how to use them in the Samin community, and to find out the UV and FL values of each plant. The sampling technique in this study used the snowball sampling method for the Samin community in Margomulyo District, Bojonegoro Regency. The interviews were carried out semi-structurally using open-ended question types. The qualitative parameters used were the name of the plant, how to mix it, how to use it and the rules for using it, while the quantitative parameters used were the Use Value and Fidelity Level values. The results showed that there were 6 plants as traditional antihypertensive treatment from 43 respondents namely cucumber, celery, temulawak, ciplukan, garlic and cat's whiskers. The method of compounding plants as antihypertensives is mostly done by boiling, how to use them by drinking or eating directly 1-3 times a day with a duration of use of 3-10 days. The highest Use Value is cucumber with 0.84 and the Fidelity Level value of cucumber is 84% for the treatment of hypertension.
