Abstract

ARKANJELA GIRLANI ANGELITA LOEK NAMA, 2023, LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE OF PATIENTS SELF-MEDED WITH DENTAL PHARMACY AT PAJANG FARMA SURAKARTA PHARMACY, SCIENTIFIC WRITING PROGRAM, D-III PHARMACY STUDY PROGRAM, FACULTY OF PHARMACY, SETIA BUDI UNIVERSITY. Supervised by apt. Yane Dila Keswara, S.Farm., M.Sc. Self-medication or self-medication is the selection and use of modern, herbal or traditional medicines by an individual to treat a disease or disease symptoms. Toothache or ondontogenic pain is a disease that usually affects the pulp tissue or periodontal structures. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of knowledge of Pajang pharmacy patients about toothache self-medication. The research was conducted using qualitative methods by collecting data by observation. The sample used in this study were Pajang Farma Pharmacy patients. The sampling technique from the population is carried out randomly without regard to the existing strata in the population. The study was conducted with a cross�sectional design and distributed questionnaires as primary data collection instruments to respondents which contained questions about toothache self�medication. Data analysis was carried out by looking at the number of respondents from the number of each correct answer. The highest score for each question is 1, the number of questions is 10, so the highest score for all questions is 10. Most of the self-medication patients with toothache analgesic drugs were female (71.2%). Self-medication toothache analgesic drug patients based on age (18-25 years) 73.2%. Most of the self-medication patients with toothache analgesic drugs were based on higher education (university), namely (82.5%). Most patients self-medicated toothache analgesic drugs based on work (students), namely (55.6%). The level of patient knowledge on self-medication use at Pajang Farma Surakarta pharmacy is in the good category (69.1%). The knowledge level of toothache self-medication at Pajang Farma Pharmacy Surakarta is in the good category (60.8%).
