Abstract

MONIKA RESTI ARIFAH, 2023, COMPARISON OF THE ANALGESTIC EFFECTS OF 2 TRADEMARKS OF PARACETAMOL TABLETS AND GENERIC PRODUCTS IN MALE WHITE MICE (Mus Musculus) USING THE WRITHING TEST METHOD, SCIENTIFIC PAPER, D-III PHARMACY STUDY PROGRAM, FACULTY OF PHARMACY, UNIVERSITY OF SETIA BUDI. Supervised by apt. Dwi Ningsih, S.Si., M.Farm. Analgesics are drugs used to reduce or eliminate pain or pain relievers without losing consciousness. Analgesic drugs have side effects including hypersensitivity reactions, stomach and intestinal disorders, damage to the kidneys, and can cause liver damage when consumed in excessive doses. The aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of the use of the generic paracetamol analgesic drug and 2 brand name paracetamol in acetic acid-induced male white mice (Mus Musculus). This study used 16 male rats (Mus musculus) with certain criteria, divided randomly into 4 groups: the pain control group, the group given generic paracetamol, the group given brand A paracetamol (cheap price), and the group given paracetamol trademark B (high price). The research stages of giving treatment to experimental animals included being given treatment with the test material, namely generic paracetamol, brand A paracetamol and brand B paracetamol, waiting for 30 minutes. After that, it was injected with acetic acid intra-peritoneally, and the stretch was counted for 1 hour. The results showed that from the results of the proportion of analgesic power it could be concluded that there was no significant difference between generic paracetamol tablets (64.39%), brand A paracetamol at a low price (51.15%) and brand B paracetamol at a high price ( 54.92%)
