Abstract

ABSTRACT Religious tolerance is the realization of the expression of religious experience in the form of community. Religious tolerance and social prejudice are closely related in everyday life. Everyone in his daily life is always prejudiced. High social prejudice will lead to negative behavior from every view of racial, ethnic, cultural and religious differences that lead to intolerance. The purpose of this study is to examine the role of social prejudice on religious tolerance in millennial society. This research uses quantitative methods. The participants in this study were millennial people who participated in the Santri Mbeling Al Anshori activity with a total of 80 respondents. This research is to test whether there is a role of Social Prejudice on Religious Tolerance. The data analysis technique used in this research is Simple Regression with the help of SPSS 21.0 for windows release. The results showed a regression value (r) of 0.311 (F = 8.340; p < 0.05) between social prejudice and religious tolerance. The effective contribution of social prejudice to religious tolerance is 0,097 or 9,7 %, and the influence of other factors is 90,3%. These results illustrate that the hypothesis of this study is accepted and show that there is a negative and significant role between social prejudice and religious tolerance. INTISARI Toleransi beragama merupakan realisasi dari ekspresi pengalaman keagamaan dalam bentuk komunitas. Toleransi beragama dan prasangka sosial sangat berhubungan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Setiap orang dalam kehidupan sehari - harinya selalu berprasangka. Prasangka sosial yang tinggi akan menimbulkan perilaku negatif dari setiap memandang perbedaan ras, suku, budaya dan agama yang menimbulkan intoleransi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji adanya peran prasangka sosial terhadap toleransi beragama pada masyarakat milenial. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah masyarakat milenial yang mengikuti kegiatan Santri Mbeling Al Anshori dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 80 responden. Penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji adakah peran Prasangka Sosial terhadap Toleransi Beragama. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Regresi Sederhana dengan bantuan SPSS 21,0 for windows release. Hasil penelitian menunjukan nilai regresi (r) sebesar 0,311 (F = 8,340 ; p < 0,05). Sumbangan efektif prasangka sosial terhadap toleransi beragama pengaruh sebesar 0,097 atau 9,7%. Hasil ini menggambarkan bahwa hipotesis penelitian ini ditolak dan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peran positif dan signifikan antara prasangka social dengan toleransi beragama.
