Abstract
RAMBU DUPA, 2023, PATTERNS OF ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUG USAGE IN HYPERTENSIVE PATIENTS AT THE OUTPATIENT DEPARTMENT OF UNIVERSITAS SEBELAS MARET HOSPITAL, THESIS PROPOSAL, PHARMACY STUDY PROGRAM, UNIVERSITAS SETIA BUDI, SURAKARTA. Supervised by Prof. Dr. apt. R.A. Oetari, S.U., M.M., MSc. And Lukito Mindi Cahyo, S.K.G., M.P.H. Hypertension (high blood pressure), namely systolic blood pressure ≥ 140 mmHg and/or diastolic ≥ 90 mmHg, respectively. WHO (World Health Organization) states that hypertension affects 22% of the world's population, affecting 36% of Southeast Asians. The aim of the research was to determine the pattern of use of antihypertensive drugs and determine the suitability of administering antihypertensive drugs to outpatients at the Universitas Sebelas Maret Hospital according to the Guidelines for Pharmaceutical Services on Hypertension from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Year 2019 and Guideline Joint National Committee 8 (JNC 8). The sampling was done using purpose sampling technique by utilizing hypertensive patient medical record data based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Subsequently, the data were descriptively analyzed using Microsoft Excel to determine the percentage of hypertensive patients with or without comorbidities, the percentage of drug usage, and the appropriateness of antihypertensive drug use. The data were collected retrospectively. The collected data included patient names, medical record numbers, patient gender, diagnosis, types of drugs, and drug formulations. The research results obtained on the pattern of the use of antihypertensive drugs in patients aged 18 to 65 years at the outpatient clinic of Universitas Sebelas Maret Hospital in 2022 show that the most widely used drug is amlodipine, accounting for 33%. The use of drugs in hypertensive patients at the outpatient clinic of Universitas Sebelas Maret Hospital in 2022 includes 65 patients (63%) in accordance with the pharmaceutical service guidelines for hypertension from the Indonesian Ministry of Health in 2019, and there are 39 patients (38%) who do not comply. Furthermore, in accordance with the Joint National Committee 8 (JNC 8) guidelines, 89 patients (86%) have used drugs correctly, while 15 patients (14%) have not followed the guidelines.
