Nash) SEBAGAI REPELLENT NYAMUK Culex sp., SKRIPSI, PROGRAM STUDI S1 FARMASI, FAKULTAS FARMASI. UNIVERSITAS SETIA BUDI SURAKARTA. Dibimbing oleh Dr. apt. Titik Sunarni, M.Si. dan apt. Drs. Widodo Priyanto, M.M. Filariasis adalah penyakit menular menahun yang disebabkan oleh cacing filarial sp. dan ditularkan melalui gigitan nyamuk. Nyamuk Culex sp. merupakan vektor utama penyakit filariasis. Pada penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat ekstrak akar wangi (Vetiveria Zizanioides) menjadi sediaan lotion yang memenuhi persyaratan mutu fisik dan mempunyai stabilitas yang baik selama penyimpanan, untuk mengetahui lotion ekstrak akar wangi (Vetiveria Zizanioides) memiliki efek repellent terhadap nyamuk culex sp., dan untuk mengetahui berapa kadar ekstrak akar wangi (Vetiveria Zizanioides) dalam lotion yang sudah efektif sebagai repellent terhadap nyamuk culex sp. Penelitian ini menggunakan 3 konsentrasi ekstrak akar wangi (10%, 15%, 20%) yang diperoleh melalui metode maserasi, pembuatann lotion dengan menambahkan fase air kedalam fase minyak secara langsung pada mortar panas. Metode uji fisik lotion meliputi uji organoleptis, uji pH, uji daya sebar, uji daya lekat, uji viskositas, uji homogenitas, uji stabilitas dengan metode cycling test, dan uji iritasi dengan uji tempel terbuka (Patch Test). Untuk uji repellent dilakukan dengan lengan kiri diolesin lotion ektrak akar wangi yang memiliki aktivitas sebagai repellent terhadap nyamuk culex s.p sebanyak 2 g selama 6 jam. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa lotion mempunyai mutu fisik dan stabilitas yang baik dari pengujian organoleptis, daya sebar, daya lekat, pH, viskositas, stabilitas dengan metode cycling test dan uji iritasi. Hasil dari daya repellent menunjukkan bahwa formula kedua dengan sediaan yang mengandung ekstrak akar wangi konsentrasi 15% memiliki efek repellent tertinggi sebesar 66%. Widodo Priyanto, M.M. Filariasis is a chronic infectious disease caused by filarial worms sp. and transmitted through mosquito bites. Mosquito Culex sp. is the main vector of the disease filariasis. This study aims to make fragrant root extract (Vetiveria Zizanioides) into lotion preparations that meet physical quality requirements and have good stability during storage, to find out the lotion of fragrant root extract (Vetiveria Zizanioides) has a repellent effect against culex mosquitoes, and to find out how much the level of fragrant root extract (Vetiveria Zizanioides) in lotion that has been effective as a repellent against culex sp. mosquitoes. This study used 3 concentrations of fragrant root extract (10%, 15%, 20%) obtained through maceration method, making lotion by adding water phase to oil phase directly on hot mortar. Physical test methods of lotions include organoleptis test, pH test, dispersion test, adhesion test, viscosity test, homogeneity test, stability test with cycling test method, and irritation test with open patch test. For the repellent test carried out with the left arm smeared with fragrant root extract lotion which has activity as a repellent against culex mosquitoes s.p as much as 2 g for 6 hours. The results show that the lotion has good physical quality and stability from organoleptis testing, dispersion, adhesion, pH, viscosity, stability by cycling test and irritation test methods. The results of the repellent power showed that the second formula with a preparation containing a 15% concentration of fragrant root extract had the highest repellent effect of 66%.
