Abstract
IWA, MARIA F.N.A., 2022, EFFECT OF VARIATIONS OF CONCENTRATIONS OF CARBOPOL 940 IN THE PREPARATION OF Cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum) SKIN OIL EMULGEL ON PHYSICAL QUALITY AND INCISION WOUND HEALING, THESIS, FACULTY OF PHARMACY, UNIVERSITY OF SETIA BUDI, SURAKARTA. Cinnamon plants contains secondary metabolites that aid in the healing of wounds, including as cinnamaldehyde, eugenol, and benzaldehyde. Cuts are injuries brought on by friction, pressure, or exposure to dangerous chemicals. In order to produce emulgel preparations that passed the physical quality test and had anti-slice activity on the backs of New Zealand rabbits, it was necessary to formulate cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum) bark oil with different carbopol 940 concentrations. Cinnamon bark oil formulated emulgel formulations with changes in carbopol 940 concentration, specifically 1%, 1.5%, and 2%. The emulgel formulations underwent physical quality and stability tests. The emulgel formulation was then evaluated after being administered to 5 test animals using various formulas. One-way parametric variance (ANOVA) will be used to examine the data, and the independent sample t-test will follow. According to the findings, the entire emulgel formula created a preparation with good physical quality and stability. The best results for wound healing come from formula 1. Variations in the concentration of gelling agent Cinnamon bark oil emulgel preparations have an effect, namely the higher concentration of gelling agent, the more difficult it is for the active substances in the emulgel to be released, so that wound healing takes a longer time
