Abstract
ROBBI, MF, 2021, THE ACTIVITY OF GREEN BETEL LEAF EXTRACT ETANOL 70% SYRUP (Piper betle Linn.) AS HEPATOPROTECTOR IN PARACEMOL-INDUCED WISTAR STREAM RATS,THESIS, FACULTY PHARMACY, SETIA BUDI UNIVERSITY, SURAKARTA. Liver is the largest organ in the body that forms bile, forms blood clotting factors, and is the center of carbohydrate, protein, fat, hormone, and chemical metabolism. Hepatotoxic is a compound that causes interference with liver tissue in excessive doses or in the long term. Green betel leaf (Piper betle Linn.) has the potential as a hepatoprotector. This study aims to determine the preparation of 70% ethanol extract of green betel leaf (Piper betle Linn.) has activity as a hepatoprotector in white male rats of wistar strain induced by paracetamol. In this study, a syrup preparation of 70% ethanol extract of green betel leaf was used as a starting point, which was induced in male white rats of the wistar strain and divided into 5 groups, namely group 1 as negative control, group 2 as positive control, group 3 as group giving formula. 1 the concentration of propylene glycol is 16.5 g, group 4 variation of propylene glycol formula 2 is 18 g, and the variation of propylene glycol formula 3 group 5 is 19.5 g. The final levels of SGOT and SGPT were determined on day 14. Data on differences in levels of SGOT and SGPT were analyzed by ANOVA test. The results showed that the syrup preparation of ethanol extract of green betel leaf (Piper betle Linn.) had a syrup preparation that had good physical quality and stability with variations in propylene glycol concentration affecting the hepatoprotector activity. The higher the extract concentration, the higher the SGOT and SGPT levels obtained. The results of hepatoprotector activity in F1, F2 and F3 syrup preparations with each concentration variation of 16.5 g, 18 g, 19.5 g. Formula 3 is the most effective which is comparable to the normal group..
