Abstract

Wulandari, M. 2023. Comparison of Serum Creatinine Levels in Hypertensive and Normotensive Patients. D4 Health Analyst Study Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, Setia Budi University. Hypertension is still a health problem in the world and in Indonesia. Hypertension that lasts for a long time can cause damage to kidney function by narrowing the blood vessels in the kidneys. Untreated hypertension can cause complications in kidney damage even though the person does not have kidney disorders, kidney damage that occurs can exacerbate hypertension. This study aims to look at differences in serum creatinine levels in hypertensive and normotensive patients. Observational analytic study with a cross sectional approach, conducted in February - May 2023 at UPT Puskesmas Banyuanyar. This research method was purposive sampling of 60 blood samples collected from 30 hypertensive respondents and 30 normotensive respondents. To test for normality using the Shapiro Wilk test then proceed with a different test, namely the Mann-Whitney Test. The results showed that the mean serum creatinine value was 1.34 mg/dl for hypertension and 1.07 mg/dl for normotension. The Mann-Whitney Test obtained a p>0.05 (p=0.684) meaning that there was no statistically significant difference between creatinine levels in hypertensive and normotensive patients. The conclusion was that there was no significant difference between serum creatinine levels in hypertensive and normotensive patients p>0.05 (p=0.684).
