Abstract
Muhana, R. I. 2023. Identification and Sensitivity Test of Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa in Urine Samples of Urinary Tract Infection Patients at RSUD Dr. Moewardi. Bachelor’s degree Program in Medical Laboratory Technologi, Health Science Faculty, Setia Budi University. Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is an infection caused by the growth of microorganisms in a person's urinary tract. Information from the Indonesian Ministry of Health in 2014 showed that the number of UTI sufferers reached 90-100 cases per 100,000 population per year. Urinary tract infection (UTI) is an infection that is included in the top 10 diseases with the highest incidence. The bacteria that cause UTIs are Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumonia , Proteus mirabilis, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The purpose of this study was to identify Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa , and to determine the pattern of bacterial sensitivity to antibiotics. The samples examined were urine samples from patients with Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) at RSUD Dr. Moewardi, This research is an observational analytic study with a cross sectional approach that aims to determine the sensitivity of bacteria to antibiotics using the diffusion method. This research was conducted by isolating Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria from urine samples of patients with urinary tract infections and testing their sensitivity to antibiotics, The results of the isolation of urine samples from patients with urinary tract infections showed that 2 samples contained Escherichia coli bacteria and no Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria . The sensitivity test results showed that Escherichia coli was sensitive to Gentamicin, Imipenem, Chloramphenicol and Ciprofloxacin, Intermediate to Chloramphenicol and resistant to Ciprofloxacin.
