Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP OF KNOWLEDGE WITH COMPLIANCE WITH MEDICATION IN HYPERTENSION PATIENTS AT DR. SOERATNO GEMOLONG SRAGEN DISTRICT, THESIS, FACULTY OF PHARMACY, SETIA BUDI UNIVERSITY, SURAKARTA. Superviced by Prof. Dr. apt. R.A. Oetari, S.U., M.M., M.Sc and apt. Drs. Partana Boedirahardja, SH., MPH Hypertension is one of the diseases with the highest prevalence. So knowledge of hypertensive patients is needed in achieving patient compliance in taking medication. The aim of the research was to determine the percentage of knowledge and the percentage of compliance as well as describe the relationship between knowledge of hypertension and compliance with taking medication for hypertension patients. This research method is a descriptive statistical method. Collecting patient data used two different questionnaires, namely the Hypertension Fact Questionnaire (HFQ) to collect knowledge data and the Drug Attitude Inventory (DAI-10) to collect compliance data with 143 respondents. The data obtained by researchers was carried out by univariate and bivariate analysis. The results of the knowledge test were in the low category with a presentation of 15.4% (22) of respondents, the medium category was 62.2% (90) of respondents, and the high category was 21.7% (31) of respondents. Low category compliance with a percentage of 0.7% (1) respondents, medium compliance category with a presentation of 20.3% (29) respondents, and the compliance category is 79.0% (113) respondents. There is a relationship between knowledge and adherence to taking medication in hypertensive outpatients at RSUD dr. Soeratno Gemolong (P = 0.001)
