Abstract
Kusumaningesti, A.M. 2024. Description of Cholesterol Levels in the Elderly at the Pratama Budi Luhur Clinic in the Wonogiri area, Diploma Program of Medical Laboratory Technology, Faculty of Health Sciences, Setia Budi University Surakarta. Hypercholesterolemia is one of the health problems most often experienced by people, especially the elderly. The prevalence of hypercholesterolemia in Indonesia at the age of 25-34 years is 9.3%, while at the age of 34-55 years it is 15.5%. Data shows that worldwide mortality due to cardiovascular disease with a history of hypertension and hyperkolesterolemia in the body is 39.90%. This study aims to determine the description of blood kolesterol levels in the elderly at the Primary healthcare clinic “Budi Luhur” in the Wonogiri area. The type of research used is observational research, namely research that aims to observe or measure various research subject variables in July-December 2023. The research subjects were 103 elderly patients aged over 65 years who had their sum cholesterol levels checked at the Primary healthcare clinic “Budi Luhur”. Data was taken from medical records of laboratory examinations of elderly patients at the Primary healthcare clinic “Budi Luhur” in the Wonogiri area. Medical record data that has been validated is then analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results of this research are the cholesterol levels of elderly patients at the Primary healthcare clinic “Budi Luhur” in the Wonogiri area based on gender, namely for male patients the desired cholesterol level is 11 people (10.68%), the high limit level is 37 people (35 .92%) and High levels were 4 people (3.88%). cholesterol in women with desired levels was 17 people (16.50%), high limit levels were 28 people (27.18%) and high levels were 6 people (5.83%). Cholesterol level are 188,39 ± 41,65 mg/dl, for men the lowest level is (123 mg/dl) and the highest level (319 mg/dl), for women the level is lowest (119.8 mg/dl) and highest levels (314 mg/dl)
