Abstract
Treatment therapy used to prevent surgical wound infectioned by administering prophylactic antibiotics. The inappropriate use of antibiotic prophylaxis can lead to less effective treatment, increased resistance, and high medical costs. This purpose of this study is to know the description of the use of antibiotic and rationality evaluation of antibiotic use in patients undergoing cesarean section at RSUD Ir.Soekarno in 2017. This research used non-experimental descriptive method with retrospective data collection. The research was conducted by looking at the description of the use of antibiotics in patients sectio caesarea and evaluating the rationale of the use of antibiotics based on proper indications, proper patients, proper medication and proper dosage. Data obtained compared to Hospital Formulary and Antibiotic Prophylaxis On Obstetric And Gynecology Surgery Guideline 2013. The results showed that of 127 patients, the use of prophylactic antibiotics used in patients sectio caesarea in RSUD Ir.Soekarno Sukoharjo is cefotaxim by 65,35%, cefazolin by 27,56% and ceftriaxon by 7,09%. Evaluation of the use of antibiotics in patients sectio caesarea based on Hospital Formulary is 100% appropriate and according to Antibiotic Prophylaxis On Obstetric And Gynecology Surgery Guideline 2013 was proper indication and proper of patients by 100%, proper medicine by 27,56% and proper dosage by 27,56 %.
