Abstract

Diabetes melitus is a collection of symtoms characteristics by the presence of high blood glucose levels caused by hormone deficiency regulating blood glucose levels. The importance study of rasionality to increase the efficaly of drug administraton to patients. This study aims to ensure the rasional use of drugs in patients with diabetes melitus type 2 in Ir. Soekarno hospital Sukoharjo at 2017. The sample in this study were patients with main diagnose diabetes melitus type 2 as many as 36 patients. This study is non experimental research that analyzed by descriptive method. Data were collected retrospectively from medical record patients. Data analysis were analyzed with standar of hospital formulary and PERKENI 2015. The result of this study showed that 36 patients diabetes melitus type 2 in Ir. Soekarno hospital Sukoharjo at 2017 comprised 15 men and 21 women, 22 cases (61,1%) were DM type 2 with complication disease and 14 cases (38,9%) were DM type 2 without complication disease. The result of the study showed that antidiabetic medication used were insulin, biguanid, sulfonylurea, and inhibitors α-glucosidase. Antidiabetic drug used was appropriate by formulary Ir. Soekarno Sukoharjo hospital. Stufy of rasional showed that patients had indication appropriate were 32 patients (88,8%), drug choice appropriate were 23 patients (63,9%), dosis appropriate were 36 patients (100%), and patients appropriate were 36 patients (100%).
