Abstract
Uric acid disease caused by excess of uric acid levels in the blood. Uric acid is a product of the oxidation reaction catalyzed by the enzyme xanthine oxidase. Recording base on some patients with gout, Tenebrio molitor L has been widely used for the treatment of Indonesian society. The purposes of this study is determined the effect of ethanol extract of Tenebrio molitor L to decreased uric acid levels in leghorn rooster. This study used six groups of leghorn rooster induced by 100% chicken liver juice once a day orally for 7 days. Group I as normal control, group II as a negative control (CMC 0.5%), Group III in the standard group (allopurinol), Group IV, V, VI as the treatment group of ethanol extract of Tenebrio molitor L at dose of 0.12 mg / kg BB, 0.24 mg / kg, 0.48 mg / kg. The data obtained were analyzed by ANOVA one way followed Post Hoc test. The results showed that the group with dose 0,48 mg / kg BB can to decreased uric acid levels of leghorn rooster.
