Abstract
Hypertension is a condition when the blood pressure in the blood vessels increase in chronic. This happened because jntung work harder to pump blood to meet the needs of the oxygen. The main cause of hypertension is genetic factors, age, obesity, smoking, alcohol and stress. The purpose of this study was to investigate the use of oral hypertension drugs in patients with hypertension at the Inpatienst Installation of Karanganyar General Hospital as well as its suitability to Formularies and the JNC VIII. This research use non experimental descriptive method. Retrospective was observations on the data that already existed before. Sampling techniques used was purposive sampling, from medical record data for patients who meet the criteria. The result showed that a total of 8 types oral Hipertension drugs, single drug therapy that is often used is Amlodipin. While combination therapy was often used a combination of Amlodipin+Captopril. The precentage of suitability of drug use against Hospital Formulary was 100 %. And against the JNC VIII was 100 %. Key Words : Hipertension, Hipertension drugs, Karanganyar General Hospital
