Abstract

Urinary tract infection (UTI) is a state where their infectious microorganisms in the urinary tract.urine is the specimen of inactive Escherichia coli isolate, the highest volume of clinical specimen studied. The objective of research was to find out the sensitivity pattern of amycascin, ciprofloxacin, imipenem, and ceftriaxone antibiotics against the Escherichia coli resulted from urine patient of urinary tract infection in Surakarta Dr. Moewardi Hospital in July- September 2016. Escherichia coli bacterium was isolated from the urine of patients in Dr. Moewardi hospital Surakarta using Endo Agar. Identification was conducted by observing colony, Gram staining, and biochemical test. The sensitivity test antibiotics difusion method was find out the resistance diameter of each antibiotics that was then compared with Kirby-Baeur table to find out antibiotics ability in killing Escherichia coli bacterium. Data inhibitory antibiotics diameter processed using one way ANOVA statistical test. The result of research showed that out of 30 sample patients with UTI in Surakarta RSUD Dr. Moewardi hospital Surakarta in from July- September 2016, there was Escherichia coli in 23 sample and there was no Escherichia coli in 7 sample. The result of sensitivity test indicated antibiotics sensitivity pattern of 86,96% for amycacin, of 95,65% for ciprofloxacin, of 100% for imipenem, and 91,30%, ceftriaxone remains sensitive to the Escherichia coli bacterium. Imipenem is the most sensitive antibiotics to treat infections caused by Escherichia coli bacterium. Keywords: UTI, Escherichia coli, Antibiotic.
