Abstract

Antibiotics are drugs that come from all or part of a particular microorganism and are used to treat bacterial infections. Generic medicines are medicines with official names set forth in the Indonesian Pharmacopoeia and International Non-Propietary Namesof World Health Organization for their nutritious substances. Patent drugs are finished drugs with trade names registered on behalf of the manufacturer or authorized and sold in original packs of the factory producing them. The purpose of this research is to know the number of generic and patent is there any significant difference in the use of generic antibiotic and patent in Karanganyar General Hospital in 2016. This research uses purposive sampling. Research data is done by looking at data results of generic antibiotics and patent from computer based on hospitalization stock at Karanganyar General Hospital 2016. To compare the use of generic antibiotic drugs and patents in 2016 used the t-test method is the Independent Samples T-test. Results from use in Karanganyar General Hospital from January to December 2016: Generic antibiotics based on the preparation that is as much 386.867 tablet, 78.637 capsule, 1.898 bottle, 85.359 vials, 4.639 infuse bottle, 215 tube. Patents antibiotics based on the preparation that is as much 20.654 tablet, 2.116 capsule, 442 bottle, 12 bottle, 6.480 vials, 130 infuse bottle. The t-test results obtained the probability of 0.001> 0.05 so that H0 is rejected, or the result of the use of generic antibiotics there is a significant difference with patent antibiotics.
