Abstract

Typhoid fever is caused by Salmonella thypii which is transmitted through food or beverages consumed. Antibiotics is a group of drugs used to treat typhoid fever. The purpose of this study, to determine the most antibiotics used for the therapy of typhoid fever in inpatients in RSUD Dr. Moewardi and to find out the rationality of the use of antibiotics that includes precise, precise, appropriate dose and precise indication of the patient compared to the 2016 Hospital Formula and the National Essential Drugs of 2013. This research was conducted with an explorative non experimental descriptive design with retrospective quantitative data collection. The material used is the medical record of typhoid fever patients in inpatients of RSUD Dr. Moewardi from 2015 to June 2016 included in the inclusion criteria. Subjects of the study were all antibiotic data used for the treatment of typhoid fever in inpatients of RSUD Dr. Moewardi from 2015 to June 2016. The results of the study were as follows: Drug Use in Typhoid Fever patients are cefotaxime, Ceftriaxone, Cefofime Levofloxacin, Ciprofloxacin, Chloramphenicol, Ampicillin, Amoxcillin and Azithromycin. The most antibiotic drug is ceftriaxone. Evaluation of the use of antibiotic drugs has been rational in terms of precise, precise dosage, precise medication, and appropriate patient is in accordance with the Hospital Formulary 2016 and DOEN in 2013.
