Abstract

Inflammation is a response to tissue damage caused by physical or chemical stimulan. Inflammation is the body's attempt to inactivate or destroy organisms that attack removes irritants, and regulate tissue repair. The purpose of this study was to determine the anti-inflammatory effects of the ethanol extract of the biji jamblang (Eugenia Cumini Druse) and determine dose which affect as anti-inflammatory in the white male mice wistar strain. Tests of anti-inflammatory effect conducted by 5 groups ofrat, each group induced caragenin. Each group was given treatment, the control positive was given Na-diklofenak, a control negative was given 1% CMC, and was given extract of jamblang seed 10 mg / 200 gBW, 20 mg/ 200 gBW, and 40 mg/ 200 gBW. Udema then measured for 5 hours and calculated its AUC to obtain the results of antiinflammatory 1 %. The results showed that the extract etanolic of jamblang seed had antiinflammatory effects which induced caragenin. Increased doses of jamblang extract could affect the anti-inflammatory activity. The most effective dose in inhibiting edema volume in male white rats was 20 mg/ 200 g BW dose. Keywords: Na-diklofenak, the etanolic extract of jamblang seed, anti-inflammatory.
