Abstract
Inflammation is a local reaction in the vascular tissue to injuries characterized by rubor, calor, dolor and turgor. The aims of the research were to determine the antiinflamatory activity of Artocarpus altilis leafethanolic extract and determine the safety of Artocarpus altilis leaf ethanol extract on rat stomach. Artocarpus altilis leaf was extracted by maceration method with ethanol 96%. This research using 30 rats which divided into 6 groups. Normal control, negatif control (CMC Na), positive control (diclofenac sodium 4,5 mg/kg BB), Artocarpus altilis laf ethanolic extract doses 15 mg, 30 mg, 60 mg/kg BB. Caragenan induced method antiimflamatory activity was done by measuring edema volume in sole foot which is induced by caragenan 0,8%. Then continued with the calculation of indices and hisology of the stomach. Data were analyzed using Shapiro-wilk, ANOVA and LSD posthoc test. The result of the research showed that Artocarpus altilis leaf ethanolic extract doses 15 mg, 30 mg, 60 mg/kg BB has antiinflamatory. In microsopic examination there is picnosis on positive control (diclofenac sodium) after the use is extended for 5 days. The macroscopic and microscopic of Artocarpus altilis leaf ethanolic extract showed safety against rat stomach. Key words : antiinflamation, Artocarpus altilis leaf ethanolic extract, caragenan induced, gastric histology.
