Abstract

Intestinal helminth infections are a public health problem in Indonesia, especially in rural areas or slum urban areas. Primary school-aged children are at risk of infection with worms. Soil is a source of infection where primary school children are in direct contact. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence or absence, as well as the percentage of eggs, larvae of intestinal nematodes on feces samples of children SD Negeri 01 Karangsari, District Jatiyoso, Karanganyar District. Egg examination, larvae of intestinal nematodes using 30 samples of feces on children SD Negeri 01 Karangsari, District Jatiyoso, Karanganyar District. The research was conducted at Setia Budi University Laboratory. Fecal samples were examined using a direct method with 2% lugol and eosin solution and a floatation method with saturated NaCl. The results of the examination of 30 faeces samples obtained 1 positive samples infected by Hookworm with percentage of 3.33% and 29 negative samples with 96.67% percentage uninfected with eggs and larvae of Ascaris lumbricoides, Necator americanus, Ancylostoma duodenale, Trichuris trichiura, and Oxyuris vermicularis Keywords: feces, intestinal nematodes, Hookworm
