Abstract

The prevalence of dyspepsia in Asia including Indonesia, is increasing in line with changes in lifestyle patterns Adherence to drug use is expected to affect the improvement of the quality of life of dyspeptic patients. The purpose of this research is to know the adherence of drug usage and quality of life of dyspepsia patients as well the influence of drug adherence to the life quality of dyspepsia patients in Pharmacy Installation of Regional General Hospital. Moewardi Surakarta. The study used cross sectional method, with survey on dyspepsia patients with complication or without complication of street treatment at Pharmacy Installation of Drs. Moewardi Surakarta. Compliance assessment using Medication Adherence Rating Scale (MMAS-8) and quality of life using The Napean dyspepsia Index (NDI). The data taken are primary data which is the source of data obtained from the questionnaire filling by dyspepsia patient and the data is analyzed using simple linear regression. The subjects obtained in the study were 42 dyspepsia patients. The result of medication compliance questionnaire is obtained 24 respondents (57.1%) who have moderate compliance. The result of quality of life questionnaire that is dyspepsia 18 responden (42,9%) have medium compliance. The correlation coefficient between drug usage and quality of life of dyspepsia patients is 40,1% (0,401) located at interval 0,400 - 0,599 with value of significance of compliance variable is 0,004 <0,05, and t value count> t table (2,765> 2, 02108), which means drug adherence has significant effect as independent variable that can affect the quality of life of the patient.
