Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease characterized by hyperglycemia caused by abnormal metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins; and can cause chronic complications such as microvascular, macrovascular and neuropathic. Treatment of DM type 2 in RSUD Sukoharjo use metformin and glibenklamide. The aim of this study was to analyze the treatment cost-effectiveness of hospitalize patients with DM type 2 using Metformin and Glibenklamide. The study was an observational cross-sectional method according to the hospital's perspective using secondary data in January-December 2017 period regarding the treatment of 62 BPJS class-III DM type 2 patients. The data included demographic data, length of stay and total costs. A total of 32 patients class III BPJS use Metformin and 30 patients class III BPJS use glibenklamide. Patients age ranged from 36-65 years, geriatric patients. The effectiveness of drug therapy was measured based on GDS. Statistical used independent t-test. The results showed that metformin therapy were more cost-effective with the percentage of therapy effectiveness 90,63% while glibenklamide 70%, average total cost of metformin therapy was Rp. 2.821. 531 and glibenklamide Rp. 3.099.659. ACER Metformin value was Rp. 31.132,417 while glibenclamide Rp. 44.280,843. Metformin more cost-effective than glibenklamide. Keyword : Cost Effectiveness Analysis, diabetic, metformin, glibenklamide
