Abstract
Turmeric rhizome (Curcuma longa ) and Red betel leaves (Piper crocatum) is Indonesian traditional plant that have antibacterial activity. Drug with combination eventhough its chemistry or herbs start competating in terms of side effects and price. The aim of this research to know the activity of antibacterial turmeric rhizome and red betel leaves with their combination against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923. Turmeric rhizome and red betel leaves extracted with ethanol 70%. Antibacterial activity uses method dilution with storeyed consentration that are 50%; 25%; 12,5%; 6,25%; 3,125%; 1,56%; 0,78%; 0,39%; 0,19%; 0,097%. Determination minimum killing concentration of bacterial growth Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 in selective media. Result of this research obtained extract ethanol turmeric rhizome at 50 % ,red betel leaves at 50% and it’s combination at 12,5% with comparsion 1:1.
