Abstract
Orally Disintegrating Tablets is a solid dosage form containing a drug substance that breaks down or dissolves quickly without requiring air in less than 60 seconds when it is peppered over the tongue. ODT metoclopramide provides benefits for pediatric and geriatric groups who have difficulty in ingesting conventional tablets. ODT metoclopramide is made by direct compression method. The resulting powder period is tested at the time of flow and the stationary angle. Physical test tablets include: weight uniformity, hardness, brittleness, uniformity size, disintegration time, wetting time, taste response and in-vivo crushed time. Crospovidone superdisintegrant formulation with concentrations of 6%, 4% and Sodium Starch Glycolate (SSG) concentrations of 6%, 2%. The resulting data were compared with the existing requirements then analyzed one way ANOVA statistic and SNK test at 95% confidence level. The results showed a combination of superdisintegrant Crospovidone and Sodium Starch Glycolate (SSG) development of ODT metoclopramide physical quality test. Superdisintegrant Crospovidone 4% dan Sodium Starch Glycolate (SSG) 2% results in a rapid crushing time compared to other formulations, which is 21.02 seconds. Keywords: Orally Disintegrating Tablets, metoclopramide, Crospovidone and Sodium Starch Glycolate (SSG)
