Abstract
Asthma is a chronic inflammation of the airways. Heterogeneous disease characterized by symptoms of shortness of breath, wheezing, chest tightness, coughing increasingly become heavy and expiratory airflow limitation. Treatment of asthma in general as a controller and reliever in the form of inhalation, orally, parent rally. This study aims to determine patterns of use and suitability of dosage forms of asthma medication in asthma patients in the RSUD Kab. Kediri 2015. This study uses secondary data, i.e. data was obtained from medical records of hospitalized patients with asthma. The study, of 115 patients with a diagnosis of asthma in Kediri hospitals, 2015 retrospectively. The results were analyzed descriptively and using Chi-Square Tests. The research results indicate that the dosage form of the drug most widely used in the treatment of patients with asthma are inhaled. Inhales usage as much as 90.44%, 17.4% orally and parentrally as much as 83.5% in accordance with the guidelines of Perhimpunan Dokter Paru Indonesia(PDPI) Keywords: asthma, dosage form, usage patterns, regional public hospital of Kediri.
