Abstract

Sodium diclofenac includes a class of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (AINS) for treating rheumatic diseases, to improve drug retention then diclofenac sodium can be prepared for the preparation of FDT to be absorbed. The diclofenac sodium has a taste that can be applied by using β-cyclodextrin to activate its bitter taste. The inclusion complex was prepared by kneading method and characterized using FTIR spectroscopy, DSC and solubility test. The purpose of this study was to determine the combination of crospovidone and sodium starch glycolate in terms of each type of tablet and the release of diclofenac sodium in β-cyclodextrin inclusions. This study used five formulas with superdisintegrant crospovidone and sodium starch glycolate with a ratio of F1 (100%: 0), F2 (75%: 25%), F3 (50%: 50%), F4 (25%: 75%), F5 (0: 100%). The tablets were prepared by direct compression method with an average of 300 mg. Tablets were tested for tablet quality, content drug, dissolution, and taste-sensitive test. The result of this research is ANOVA statistic test to determine the result of research that has been done. The results showed that the increase in the proportion of crospovidone can accelerate the disintegration time, wetting time and accelerate the dissolution of FDT sodium diclofenac. The combination of superdisintegrant crospovidon and sodium starch glycolate (75%: 25%) has an effect on the physical quality of the best diclofenac sodium FDT.
