Abstract
The prevalence of rheumatoid arthritis in various countries including Indonesia is increasing in line with lifestyle changes such as food intake, obesity, lack of physical activity, and drugs. Increased knowledge and adherence to drug use is expected to affect the improvement of the quality of life of patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of knowledge level on quality of life with drug adherence as a variable between patients rheumatoid arthritis. This study using cross sectional method with survey to see effect level of knowledge on quality of life and compliance of drug use as intermediate variable. Knowledge assessment using ACREU RAKQ, compliance assessment using MMAS-8 and quality of life evaluation using The AIMS2-SF. To take the data of knowledge, drug usage compliance and quality of life used questionnaire and data analyzed used path analysis. The subjects obtained in the study were 30 patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The result level of knowledge questionnaire that is obtained 13 respondents (43,33%) who had high knowledge. Result of medication compliance questionnaire that is obtained 14 respondents (46,67%) who had moderate compliance. The result quality of life questionnaire that is obtained 16 respondents (53,33%) who had a quality of life is. The signficant influence between the level of knowledge on the quality of life with the compliance of drug use as a variable between the estimated value or the percentage of influence 79%, the meaning is drug use compliance significantly influence as the intermediate variable that can increase the estimated value or the percentage of the influence level of knowledge on the quality of life.
