Abstract

Sirsak (Annona muricata L) leaf have chemical contents of flavonoid, alkaloid, and saponin are thought to have antibacterial activity. The purpose of this study was to determine the activity of the ethanol extract, fraction of nhexane, ethyl acetate fraction, and water fraction from sirsak (Annona muricata L) antibacterial of Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923. Sirsak leaf extracted by percolation method using 96% ethanol solvent then fractionated by using n-hexane, ethyl acetate and water solvent. Ethanol extract, n-hexane fraction, ethyl acetate fraction, and water fraction were tested for antibacterial activity using diffusion and dilution method with various concentrations. The results showed that the fraction of n-hexane, ethyl acetate fraction, and water fraction of soursop leaf ethanol extract has antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923. -rata average diameter of inhibitory fraction of n-hexane, ethyl acetate fraction, and the fraction of water in Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 at concentrations of 50% inhibition respectively diameter is 15 mm; 17.7 mm; 10,7 mm. Ethyl acetate fraction of sirsak leaf extract has the most effective antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923. At Dilution test values obtained KBM Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 was 6.25%. Keywords: soursop leaf, Staphylococcus aureus, diffusion, and dilution
