Abstract
Binahong leaves (Anredera cordifolia (Ten) Steenis) has containing saponins, tannin, flavonoids, and alkaloids. Aloe vera (Aloe barbadensis Miller) has containing anthraquinone, saponins, tannin, and flavonoids. The compounds have antibacterial activity. The purpose was to know antibacterial activity in combination ethanol extract of binahong leaves and aloe vera to Staphylococcus aureus. Binahong leaves and Aloe barbadensis Miller had extraction with maceration. The extracts had been comparison (ethanol extract binahong leaf : ethanol extract Aloe barbadensis Miller) 1:1, 1:2, and 2:1. The extracts was antibacterial tested by diffusion with concentration 50%, 25%, and 12,5% and dillution with series concentration 50%, 25%, 12,5%, 6,25%, 3,125%, 1,56%, 0,78%, 0,39%, and 0,195%. The positive control is amoxicillin 2,5% and negative control is DMSO 5%. The data is analyzed by using two way ANOVA. The result show that concentration and comparison extract has different effect of inhibition zone (Sig= 0,00< 0,05). In comparison 1:1, 1:2, and 2:1 concentration 50% have inhibition zone 19,67 mm, 14,00 mm, and 14,67 mm. The result Minimum Bakterisidal Concentration (MBC) is 3,125%. Keywords : Binahong leaves, Aloe vera , Staphylococcus aureus, Inhbition zone, MBC.
