Abstract
Katuk leaf and sambiloto leaf is a medicinal plant that contains flavonoid compounds, sambiloto leaf contains andrografolid compounds which have high antioxidant activity potentially as hepatoprotector. This research aim to know the dose combination of ethanol extract 70% katuk leaf and sambiloto leaf to reduce levels of SGOT and SGPT in male rats strain wistar that induced paracetamol. This research used 40 rats were divided into 8 groups that is, group I normal control, group II negative control (CMC 0,5%), group III positive control (curcuma 18 mg / kg BB), group IV given katuk leaf extract dose 162 mg / kg BB, group V given sambiloto leaf extract 500 mg / kg BB, group VI, VII, VIII were given the extract of the combination of katuk leaf and sambiloto leaf with a dose respectively 40,5 mg / kg BB : 375 Mg / kg BB, 81 mg / kg BB : 250 mg / kg BB, 125,5 mg / kg BB : 125 mg / kg BB. All groups were treated for 13 days. Day 11-13 was given paracetamol except the normal group. Determination levels of SGOT and SGPT, as well as the removal of liver organ as histology preparations performed on days 0 and 14. The data obtained were analyzed by Kruskal Wallis. The results showed that dosage combination of katuk leaf extract and sambiloto leaf extract 81 mg/kg BB:250 mg/kg BB able to decrease SGOT and SGPT levels, and single dose katuk leaf extract 162 mg/kg BB able to inhibit liver cell necrosis in male rats strain wistar that induced paracetamol.
