Abstract
The prevalence of gastritis in various countries including Indonesia increases with lifestyle changes such as food intake, obesity, physical inactivity, and medications. Improved knowledge and compliance of drug use is expected to affect the improvement of quality of life of patients with gastritis. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the level of knowledge on quality of life with drug use as an intermediate variable among patients with gastritis. This research a study was using cross sectional method, using a survey to see the effect of the level of knowledge on quality of life and compliance of drug use as an intermediate variable. The data is taken from the data level of knowledge, use of medication adherence and quality of life using a questionnaire and data analyzed using path analysis. The subjects were obtained in this study a total 32 gastritis patients. The resultswith knowledge level is obtained 16 respondents (50%) being high. The results of the compliancequestionnaires with drug use a total 26 respondents (81.2%) being moderate compliance. The results of the questionnaire quality of life is obtained 18 respondents (56.2%) a good quality of life. The level of knowledge on quality of life with medication adherence as intermediate variables had a significant effect with r = 0.56 and t = 3.922. This means that drug adherence has significant effect as the intermediate variable that can increase the estimated value or the percentage of the effect of the knowledge level on the quality of life.
