Abstract

Broncopneumonia is one of biggest cause of death especially in developing countries. Antibiotics are the main therapy in bacterial pneumonia. Using antibiotics to long with other drugs allows drug interactions to occur. This study aims to see the type of drug that leads to many interactions and know the pattern of drug interactions in bronchopneumonia geriatri patients at Inpatient Installation RSUD Ir. Soekarno Sukoharjo at 2017. This study is descriptive with retrospective data collection. This research is descriptive with retrospective data retrieval. This study used secondary data from Bronkopneumonia Geriatric patient at Inpatient Installation of RSUD Ir. Soekarno Sukoharjo in 2017. The data were then analyzed using the Medscape Reference-Drug Interaction Checker, the Stockley’s Drug Interaction book by Karen Baxter, and Fact and Comparisons by David S. Tatro. The results of this study indicate that the type of drug that generates a lot of interaction is ceftriaxone with furosemide (31.48%). Pattern of drug interaction that happened in bronchopneumonia geriatric patient was pharmacokinetic drug interaction as much as 9 cases (45%) and pharmacodynamic interaction of 10 cases (50%) and 1 cases of unknown (5%).
