Abstract

Drug interaction is an interaction that occurs when the effects of a drug are altered by the presence of other drugs. Drug interaction is a drug related problem that can affect patient therapy outcome. Hypertensive patients require two or more antihypertensive drugs to achieve blood pressure targets. This research aimed to know the incidence of interaction in the treatment of hypertensive patients at the inpatient installation at RSUD dr. Soeroto Ngawi in period year 2017. This research is non experimental descriptive with data retrieval retrospectively. The populations in this research were all hypertensive patients in Inpatient Installation RSUD dr. Soeroto Ngawi in 2017. The samples in this research were all hypertensive patients in the Inpatient Installation of RSUD dr. Soeroto Ngawi in 2017 that meets the inclusion criteria. The results showed that drug interactions were found in 39 patients (75%) with total of drug interaction incidences in the amount 162 cases. The interaction incidence that involving antihypertensive drugs were 116 cases (71.60%). The most frequent incidence was the interaction between amlodipine and metamizol in the amount 13 incidences (11.21%). The most frequent interaction category was significant in the amount 86 incidences (74.14%). The most interaction mechanism was farmakodinamik in the amount 62 incidences (53.42%).
