Abstract

Pepino fruit contains several compounds: flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, steroids have an effect on lowering LDL levels and increasing HDL levels. The purpose of this study to determine the effect of pepino fruit extract on LDL and HDL levels, knowing the effective dose of pepino fruit extract to LDL and HDL Pepino fruit extract was obtained by maceration with 70% ethanol solvent. This research was conducted by complete randomized design (RAL) method with pretest and posttes designe using 30 male rats tested in 6 treatment groups: normal group, negative group, positive group, dose group 500 mg/ KgBB, dose group 1,702 g/Kg BB, group dose 3,405 g/Kg BB. Treatment of hyperlipidemic induction treatment for 14 days. Analysis of results using ANOVA and Tukey The results of this study giving pepino fruit extract to get effective dose at dose 1.702 g/Kg can reduce levels of LDL and increase HDL.
