Abstract
Soursop leaf (Annona muricata L.) contain flavonoid, tannins, alkaloids, saponins, and acetogenins while guava leaf (Psidium guava L.) contain flavonoid, tannins, alkaloids, saponins, and acetogenins that are thought to have antibacterial activity. In the previous research, ethanol extract of soursop leaf and guava leaf respectively efficacious as antibacterial Staphylococcus aureus. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of ethanol extract of soursop leaf and guava leafto the growth of Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 bacteria. The extraction of soursop leaf and guava leaf using macerasion method with 96% ethanol. The testing of antiabacterial activity used was dilution method with single extract sample of soursop leaf, single extract of guava leaf, and combination of 1:1,1:3,3:1 extract. The concentration of extract used was 50%; 25%; 6,25%; 3,12%; 1,56%; 0,78%; 0,39%; 0,19%; 0,09%. The minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) of single extract of soursop leaf and single guava extract were 25% and 6,25%. The minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) most effective combination of soursop leaf extract and guava extract leaf is a 1:3 combination of 12,5%.
